Refund Policy
Last updated: 5 October 2026 • AION Analytics
AION subscriptions provide access to analytical model outputs. Because model access is delivered immediately upon provisioning and outputs are consumed over time, refunds are limited to specific circumstances caused by AION system failures.
Approved Refund Circumstances
- Duplicate billing: You were charged more than once for the same subscription period due to a payment processing error
- Failed provisioning caused by AION: You were charged but access was not provisioned due to an error on AION's systems
- Billing error: You were charged an amount different from what was displayed at checkout
- Service outage exceeding 24 consecutive hours caused by AION: The specific model you subscribed to was completely unavailable for more than 24 consecutive hours due to AION infrastructure failure, not external dependencies
Not Approved for Refund
- Change of mind: Deciding after purchase that you do not want the service (except the Edge Engine 2-day refund below)
- Unused quota: Not using API calls or accessing reports during your subscription period
- Lack of technical knowledge: Inability to integrate the API or use the service as documented
- Failure to read documentation: Discovering that service behavior differs from assumed (but not documented) behavior
- Expectation mismatch: Model outputs do not match your expectations for what the model would do
- Trading losses: Losses incurred from any decision informed by AION outputs are not grounds for refund. AION outputs are analytical context, not trade instructions.
- Model disagreement: Disagreement with model methodology, probability estimates, or analytical framing
Edge Engine: 2-Day Satisfaction Refund
Edge Engine has no free trial. Instead, for Edge Engine subscriptions only, you may ask for a full refund of your first payment for any reason, including change of mind, within 2 days (48 hours) of that payment. Email [email protected] with the subject line "Edge Engine Refund" and the payment reference. The API key is deactivated when the refund is processed. This applies once per customer, to the first payment only; later renewals follow the rules above. Added 29 September 2026.
Service Credits
For situations that do not meet the refund criteria above but where a service disruption was caused by AION and caused genuine inconvenience, AION may offer service credits at its discretion. Service credits extend the active subscription period and are not redeemable for cash.
Cancellation
You can cancel a subscription at any time. If you cancel while the subscription is active and a paid period is running, the cancellation is scheduled for the end of that paid period: the subscription does not renew, and access and your API key keep working until the paid period ends. The refund rules above apply to the period already paid for.
If you cancel before any payment has been taken, for example during a trial window before the first charge or after a checkout that was never completed, the cancellation takes effect immediately and any API key issued for that subscription is deactivated.
Failed Payments
If a renewal payment fails, there is no separate grace period. Access continues until the end of the period you have already paid for, and stops at that point. Your API key is not revoked because a payment failed. If a later attempt at the renewal succeeds while that paid period is still running, the period and the key's expiry are extended to the end of the newly paid period.
If the paid period ends without a successful payment, access stops. To regain access after that, take out a new subscription or write to [email protected].
API Keys and Plans
An API key is issued for one model and one plan. It carries that plan's limits and does not work for any other model. An existing subscription cannot be upgraded or downgraded in place. To move to a different plan, cancel the current subscription, which runs to the end of its paid period, and subscribe to the plan you want; a new key is issued for the new subscription. The refund rules above apply to the earlier subscription.
What a Daily Limit Means
For Indian Market Intelligence, a daily limit is a rolling 24-hour window: a request is refused when the plan's daily number has already been used in the 24 hours before it. It does not reset at midnight. Where a page says "per day" for Indian Market Intelligence, it means this window. The monthly allowance is counted over your billing period, or over a rolling 30 days on the free plan. Only requests that complete successfully count.
For Edge Engine, the daily limit is counted per calendar day in UTC, which begins at 05:30 IST.
Plan limits are listed on the APIs page and in the API reference.
How to Request
To submit a refund request, email [email protected] with the subject line "Refund Request" and include:
- The email address associated with your AION account
- The model or subscription you are requesting a refund for
- The date of the charge in question
- A brief description of the reason (referencing the approved circumstances above)
Refund requests are reviewed within 5 business days. Approved refunds are processed via Razorpay to the original payment method.
Open-Source Packages
The AION Indian Market Calendar Python package is free and MIT-licensed. No purchase is required and no refunds apply.
